Summer Activities

Boating and Water Sports

The park’s 1,053-acre lake is a haven for water enthusiasts. The full-service marina provides boat rentals, dock rentals, and fuel, making it convenient for visitors to enjoy boating, fishing, jet skiing, paddleboarding, and water skiing. The marina operates from Memorial Day weekend to mid-September, with hours from 8:00 a.m. to around 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Fishing

Anglers will appreciate the lake’s designation as a Gold Medal fishery, stocked with cutthroat and rainbow trout. The lake is managed to produce trophy-quality fishing experiences.

Hiking and Biking

With over seven miles of trails, hikers and mountain bikers can explore the scenic beauty surrounding the lake. These trails connect to additional routes in the nearby Routt National Forest, offering varying levels of difficulty and stunning views.

Camping

The park boasts 188 campsites, accommodating tents, RVs, and even offering cabin rentals. Each site provides picturesque views, and amenities include picnic tables, fire rings, and access to restrooms.

Visitor Information

The park’s visitor center operates with varying hours depending on the season. During the summer, it’s open from Friday to Sunday, 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., and Monday to Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. In the winter, the hours are daily from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Daily vehicle passes are available for $9, with individual daily passes at $4. Annual passes and other specialty passes are also offered.
